I bought this lens this summer along with my D5300 for $250. I have switched to the D7200 but will keep this lens indefinitely. This lens is perfect for any type of photography, whether you're a beginner, hobbyist, even semi-pro or transitioning from one to the other like me. Autofocus isn't the fastest compared to f/2.8 equivalents, but for the price it's pretty exceptional. 55-200mm is an amazing range and I wish there were f/2.8 lenses with an extra 15mm width. Portraits, landscapes, sports shots can be taken with this lens with the right camera settings. The only problem is the low light settings. Manual focus becomes your only option in this scenario. Conclusion: Buying used for less than β¬200 is an absolute bargain. Drop resistant, easy to clean. Clear photos and takes a lot of getting used to.
