Enlarge Great offer!

Great lens at a great price. Worked great right out of the box and was as described. Well packaged and arrived much earlier than expected. I'm still trying but I'm very happy with this original Nikon gear. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Can't remember

Excellent telephoto zoom, good for still lenses

I love this lens. If you have kids who play sports, this lens is great. The super-fast focusing and the perfect coordination with my Nikon D5600 ensure phenomenal shots. Anyone who sees the results from this camera is always amazed at how clear and sharp the images are, even at a distance of 200mm.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Great lens! - Lenses for SLR Cameras

I am a photography student and decided to try this lens after reading some other reviews. I was so happy with the purchase. My photos have been amazing and I don't even technically know what I'm doing. Very good lens, very easy to use and understand. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons

Great "little " lens

Great lens, fantastic price! Snobs won't like it because it's partially plastic. So? Doesn't matter? The optics convinced me. It's light and small, which makes it fun to use. Don't forget to turn off vibration reduction when using a tripod! Final grade: A

Good Money - SLR Camera Lenses

Not exactly a photographer, just wanted the lens to zoom in more than what I had with the camera. I'm sure there are better lenses out there but for the price they are amazing and will serve me well. The zoom is excellent, the picture quality is excellent. Having a tripod helps, but only for certain shots. Pay attention to the lens as it is made entirely of plastic.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Some flaws

Perfect lens for the price

As a newbie to the D5500, I knew I needed quality lenses at prices that wouldn't break my wallet. The lens from the 55-300mm kit had no vibration reduction and after first use it turned out that the other lens from the kit with VRII was much better for my use. If you're looking for a quality zoom lens and don't always use a tripod with a remote release, you'll have a hard time finding a better lens for the same price. I couldn't be happier with the photos I produced with it.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Requires a power outlet

Best lens for beginners

I bought this lens this summer along with my D5300 for $250. I have switched to the D7200 but will keep this lens indefinitely. This lens is perfect for any type of photography, whether you're a beginner, hobbyist, even semi-pro or transitioning from one to the other like me. Autofocus isn't the fastest compared to f/2.8 equivalents, but for the price it's pretty exceptional. 55-200mm is an amazing range and I wish there were f/2.8 lenses with an extra 15mm width. Portraits, landscapes, sports…

Solid budget lens for camera lenses

This is a very good budget zoom lens, although calling it a good lens at any price is a stretch. Image quality, sharpness, low-light capabilities, etc. are all average. Nothing will surprise you with this lens. It's pretty much in the middle of the street, which is what I expected. IQ, sharpness, etc. could definitely be better. In general, this is a serviceable lens in that regard. This part is a bit subjective, so I'll leave it at that. AF / MF - mixed bag. The AF motor is quite noisy. Not so

  • Excellent overall performance

  • Upgradeable

I do not cease to rejoice at the purchase, a very good deal!

Great lens! I recommend to buy. From personal experience, it surpasses 18-105 in sharpness. Sharp at all f /in the center of the frame and open aperture, at aperture 8 sharpness across the field. There are distortions, but everything is easy to correct. 200 mm WORKING. F / b focus on my copy is not noticed. When shooting indoors, I recommend an external flash (after all, the aperture ratio, like all state employees, is small). If you have kit 18-55, then this lens is a great addition for a…
