Review on Hands-Free Cup Holder Mount: CravenSpeed Gemini Phone Mount For Mazda MX-5 Miata ND (2016-2021) Enhancing Your Driving Experience by David Cronin

Overpriced for cheap materials.

As this is one of the only mounts available for ND, I liked that it came with a clip and magnet mount together, even though it's 10x more expensive than most car mounts anywhere. But oh CravenSpeed, how you have disappointed me. I didn't get a clip attachment, apparently you discontinued it but had it listed/pictured when I bought it.The phone holder/mount itself is a great concept utilizing the cup holder slot in the passenger well and having a fairly strong neck. The largest problem is that the head always, and I mean always, loosens. If you pull the phone straight off the magnet or God forbid, twist it off, it will quickly spin the head and your phone will never stay standing upright.I have pulled the head off the neck and tightened it many times over, and it always loosens within a couple days. and to top it, the screw is junk steel, and stripped. so how do I fix the tightening now?CravenSpeed, this is a ripoff. For $100, I shouldn't even have to bother with anything other than putting my phone on the mount and thats it.

Pros
  • Prevents spills and messes
Cons
  • Not easily adjustable for multiple drivers sharing the car
