Hands-Free Cup Holder Mount: CravenSpeed Gemini Phone Mount For Mazda MX-5 Miata ND (2016-2021) Enhancing Your Driving Experience Review

I have tried a few different phone mounts, but this is the only one that I have found that would work for my ND. It is a little costly, but you just spent over 30,000 bucks on a two seat, road hugging, carnival ride that can't carry a medium size piece of luggage. It has worked great so far. It's secure, in a great spot and is well made. There's a sweet spot where your phone doesn't obstruct anything and your parking brake and stick shift doesn't interfere. I bought this on a whim and hoped for the best. it was a good decision. This fits perfectly in the passenger cup slot and angles nicely around the emergency brake. It feels like it could be an inch taller to be a bit more flexible for angling, but I've adjusted it to make it work for me. You may not love the price but you will not find a better alternative. There are other, less expensive, that either don't fit or don't hold up. I was reluctant to use the magnet mount, but after getting frustrated with my cradle, gave it a try and wished I'd skipped the frustration of the cradle. The mounting plate for the magnet was easily slipped into the case, no adhesive necessary, and works better than I could have imagined.

It eventually works it way out of the mount and falls out with the phone attached. When it works it works great but it requires some adjustments to keep it in the right spot and keep it attached to the car. Also I lose the only good cup holder spot where drinks are is easily reachable which isnt ideal.For a V2, I would recommend making the mount attach better to the car. The only issue I've encountered is that the mounting part doesn't fit 100% securely and wobbles a bit, so over time it can pop loose. I periodically push it back into the cup holder bracket to keep this from happening.

Works perfectly! Places the phone in a perfect place to be able to see and not interfere with the operation of the hand brake or in the way of the vents. Came with 2 metal plates. I used the smaller round one on my Samsung S9 with an otterbox cover. I put the metal disc underneath the rubber part of my otterbox case, but on the outside of the hard plastic part of the case. Works perfectly and solid construction. I put the magnet on the phone inside the case, but since the case has deep grooves the phone magnet wasn't getting full contact and phone slipped off over when driving over bumps. Bought a smooth case and it's good now. Lot of people are unwilling to shell out $100 for a phone mount. $59 would be reasonable and they'd sell 5x as many, I think.

This is a perfect mount for the Miata MX-5. It does not take up any dashboard space. The only negative is I find it a bit difficult to open the spring on the clasp that holds the phone. I do not want to use the magnets to hold the iPhone.

I want to like this product. Build quality is very high but the magnet is not strong enough to support my iPhone 14 pro (first world problems I know).Seems like it works well with other phones that I don’t have. Still could be a good option for lighter phones on the market but if you have a heavy chunker like mine, it needs a stronger grip.The other detail is the connection into the cup holder fitting. This is a great mount given the limited space in the vehicle. The mount sits a bit loose in the cup holder itself (compared to the cup holder itself which feels well locked in there) but it holds the phone in a good location. No major issues yet. Somewhat on the pricier end of things but worth it so far

Love you this phone mount. Fits perfectly with the right height and flexibility to adjust. Looks great very high quality and does not block any controls or air vents. If you have a ND MX5 get this phone mount you won't regret.

It's sturdy. Holds phone well, mount is hefty and doesn't rattle or move. Magnets are strong enough to hold phone even during high G cornering. Bought another one of these from CravenSpeed for the wife's 4Runner (different model from same guys). Thanks!

A quick update to my original post. I contacted CravenSpeed with a picture of the broken part. They immediately shipped out a replacement part with no hassles. Given that service, I am updating my review to 5 stars.I agree with the post that say this is overpriced for what it is. The pin in the clamp kept falling out and it was hard to seat in the cup holder slot. The clamp finally broke today after having it for less than 2 year. I was looking for a nice phone mount solution for my new mx5, the car is small so space is precious and I came across this mount. It fits perfect and has a very durable construction I would not hesitate to buy again.

Perfect for my iphone 6! Sturdy, yet flexible to place my phone just where I want it to be. I never use the cupholder anyway so this was a far better accessory for my car. :)

The product is beautifully designed and crafted. The challenges is that it interferes with the parking brake, gear shifter and bluetooth.
