Review on 🧼 Compact Gray Microfiber Spin Mop & Wringing Bucket Cleaning System - Quickie 2052228 by Megan Spencer

Compact, fairly sturdy

Like many of the Quickie products I've tried, they're near perfect. It's like someone thought they had a great design and just started doing something without testing and tweaking. PROS: Fairly light and easy to carry. I really like the rubber coating on the bottom which provides extra grip so the bucket doesn't come loose when you're in spin mode. The spin cycle definitely moves the water during both the rinse and the spin cycle. CONS: 1. I wish I had a mop for cleaning. the ropes (?) were a bit longer. The advantage of a rope style mop is that it offers a large cleaning surface that easily fits in corners, under/around appliances and even on skirting boards and china. This one has several rows of short ropes down the middle (so they don't hang from a pole I think). Multiple rows of longer ropes along the outer edge aren't long at all, which means less surface cleaning and no way to get into hard-to-reach places. Other rotary mops I've had had a switch or something that blocks the handle's rotating mechanism when you're actually mopping. It's an extra step, but it makes sense in how you use this thing. The Quickie's rotation only seems to turn off after lifting the wiper handle from the vertical rinse position. It seems comfortable, but it's difficult to get it out of that position when the rotating mechanism on the handle slides up and down. (I often have to step on the mop head and keep reaching for the handle to turn the spinner off = less convenient than a toggle switch.) 3. Same thing happens with the post in the middle. Has 2 positions (rinse/spin); After placing the mop on the stand, you have to apply pressure - quite firmly - to immerse the mop head in the water. Then you need to pull/pull just as hard to put the post in the rotation position and pull hard again to dislodge the wiper from the post. If you're overfilling the bucket at all, that upward motion may be enough to squirt some water. Luckily you have a mop in your hands, but.4. Another thing I discovered after making a mess was the small spout on the rim of the bucket. The lip seemed like a great idea for keeping the water out while mopping, but it also stays in the bucket when you're done. It might be a good idea to put some sort of small arrow under the logo plate to indicate the drain point. Problem. But for regular use I'll probably buy another Twist-N-Shout (which surprised me a lot at how good it is), OCedar, Casabella, or some other style with both a larger mop head and a separate wringing mechanism. in a bucket.
