Should I buy a 6x9 rug on a 7x8 pad? Yes! It is easy to cut and leaves no visible edges when leaning against a wall. My kids often messed up the rug under the kitchen table, and the adults didn't have room to push their chairs all the way onto the 5x7 rug that was there before, so I went with this inexpensive, slightly oversized rug. and cut it with regular scissors. It only took 10-15 minutes to unfold, mark and cut. Looks good, feels soft but a little picky on my rough feet but many fabrics do the trick. My problem, not the mat's problem. 100% approved for dogs. There will probably be an update soon if I can find one to clean, but for $37 I can replace it every few years when it gets too dirty.
