Can't rate durability, as we just put it up today. We needed some shade on our deck - this works well for mid-day, but will need to do something on the one side for late afternoon/early evening. That will be our next project! Our deck has no railing, so we lagged a 4x4 to each outside corner. The 2 corners against the house we put eye hooks into the 2x6 fascia board, above the gutter. The sail is curved enough that there is a small gap along the gutter so rain coming off the roof is not impeded. The color is more yellow/golden than I was hoping, I didn't go w/ the more exciting colors like orange or terracotta which would have looked awesome because I feel dark colors absorb the sun and are hotter.
