We put clear tape on TREX composite stairs, not knowing if the "wood grain" would interfere with adhesion. To an extent this has happened as can be seen in the photos where it is lighter but the edges do not lift and stay in place. The tape is definitely visible but it beats the black tape on the steps. I highly recommend using a 4 inch roller when applying. I also used a hand hole punch to drill holes over the TREX screws, which allows the tape to lay flat and adhere better. The dog slips and no longer hurts. Mission accomplished! Basically satisfied.
