Firstly 3 stars for the style and fit (the Cole Haan shoes fit me very well and they are classic all-purpose loafers), for the quality I would give them give a 2 max. Note: burgundy is so dark it almost looks black. They also look like patent leather, almost faux leather. I have them in both burgundy (this review) and black. I had to send them back 3 times in both colors (total 6 pairs of shoes). There were defects in the leather sole (leather warping and peeling layers of the sole) and serious surface imperfections (such as blisters on the sterilized surface and distinct silver dollar-sized light spots). Finally a pair that I thought lived up to the standard. Upon polishing (I like the soft sheen, not the sheen of the military-style patent leather on my burgundy/velvet shoes) I saw what I thought was a mark on the upper that I hadn't noticed when inspecting this third pair Replacement, I tried polishing it but the shoe's finish had shrunk to light leather - too late to go back. In addition, the glossy finish prevents your standard kiwi shoe polish from sticking and leaving little streaks on the shoes (I've been cleaning my shoes for 40 years and never had this problem), even with the yellow fabric finish the shoes don't keep the shoes looking professional. I'll probably have them cleaned by a professional (I've never had to) to see if he/she makes them look better. So buyers beware - if you really like the look and fit and think you can accept a lesser quality shoe, I would recommend these.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Poor
