Read this before you buy

Firstly 3 stars for the style and fit (the Cole Haan shoes fit me very well and they are classic all-purpose loafers), for the quality I would give them give a 2 max. Note: burgundy is so dark it almost looks black. They also look like patent leather, almost faux leather. I have them in both burgundy (this review) and black. I had to send them back 3 times in both colors (total 6 pairs of shoes). There were defects in the leather sole (leather warping and peeling layers of the sole) and serious

Rant Alert in Shoes

This is an amateur review from someone who doesn't have much experience with brand name shoes. I have had and have had several pairs of inexpensive and reasonably comfortable leather shoes. And I was curious about some brands and why they are good. Yes, I have not tried John Lobb or Edward Green. If anyone has, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me if the John Lobb experience matches the description below so I can avoid the hassle of trying these brands forever. I picked this pair for the…

Not to be dramatic but I HATE them :(

Not long ago I had a favorite pair of Cole Haan tassel loafers (exactly the same style in brown leather) that I've worn every day for years. They were great! Somehow this pair (in black) is an absolute nightmare. I've been wearing this pair for many years and only wear them a few times. Your foot slips about a ton and the sizing is a little crazy. They are too wide and have absolutely no support. The back is so thick it may take generations to pass it down from generation to generation lest you…

Trash shoes are good for shoes

I've had Cole Haan shoes for years and especially these tasseled loafers. I ordered this pair to replace the same shoes I've had for over a year. The new shoes looked the same on the Revain website but the shoes I received did not match. They were much lighter and the soles looked a little different. Seams looked crappy and ironed, no real seams. Despite my common sense, I honestly kept them because I was too lazy to return them. That was about a month ago. Fast forward to the day I wore them…

Pros
  • Hard wearing surfaces
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it says it is

I've been buying and wearing Cole Haan Pinched Tassels for 20 years now, I always get 10.5E for the wide width and these shoes are the same ones I've always bought direct from Cole Haan have . Having said that, I will say that this shoe I bought has the 'old' style of sole, it's all leather upper and sole, the 'new' Cole Haan Pinched Tassell shoes I'm in the last 3 years bought half rubber. Heeled forefoot and semi-leather outsole that offers better traction on roads, carpets, tiles, sidewalks,
