In our restaurant we have alternated between using a robot and slicing tomatoes by hand. The robot worked quickly, but the tomatoes were badly damaged and quickly got wet. Hand slicing was cleaner and the tomatoes stayed firm longer, but it was time-consuming and sizes were inconsistent. This slicer gets the job done quickly and cleanly while still producing evenly sized slices. One of our best business investments! WARNING: The blades are insanely sharp so use caution when washing your food slicer.
