Review on ๐Ÿพ Enhance Pet Safety & Travel Comfort with Guardian Gear Pet Safety Vehicle Barrier for SUVs, Minivans, and Station Wagons by Michelle Hermann

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The escape artist laughs at this barrier.

Purchased to prevent our 65 lb Samoyeds from sitting in the Yukon XL seats. To be fair, he was allowed to ride in the back seat. The barrier is easy to assemble and has a beautiful appearance. It adjusted itself to fit snugly in the cargo bay. I placed it in the center of the cargo area away from the back seat. I spaced the bars evenly with the bottom bar being less than a foot off the ground. First try. I left the dog alone for an hour. He crawled under the bottom rail. Then I moved the guard to the back of the seat and moved 3 rods to latch it over the back of the seat. Much closer range. Second try. I planted it again for 10 minutes during a pizza drive. I found it again on the seats. He squeezed himself between the bars. They were moved vertically to one side so he could fit. He just got up and pushed past. I then tightened everything, taped the bars to hold them upright, and pulled the slides an inch off the slide. Third try. I set it to an hour. I found it again on the seats. He pushed the latches inward to make it easier to get out. They are only stopped by friction and I couldn't fix them. I didn't get to watch it, but I'm willing to bet it only took a few minutes each time. I think he must be wondering why am I putting him back in jail when he knows he should be in the seats. Not sure if I want to test it for fear it will cause damage. I think I was fooling around by not making it as hard as it could be the first time around. I also think he's watched The Great Escape with us too many times. I've successfully used a piece of plywood before getting this barrier, but it's hard to see. I'm afraid this dog needs a kennel. to protect him, which is difficult to see even in the past. Return to the drawing board.
