I don't know what I'm feeling

I bought this to try hand knitting for the first time. Hand knitting was easy, but this item is too dirty to use as a blanket. I understand that wool is a different type of material but it tears so easily and I don't know 100% how to make it so you can use a blanket and wash it. So it is standing in the corner of the bedroom at the moment and looks beautiful.

Pros
