10 months old in box -- Now unusable -- Plastic is brittle and breaks

I bought in bulk so I always have spares on hand. I've used maybe half of these in 10 months and they were working great until 2 weeks ago. They are now useless. Forget about trying to fasten them with a screwdriver without drilling first. If pre-drilled they go 3/4 in and then break out with a plug sticking out of the wall. Now you have a real problem with stuck plugs!
