They were very easy to install. They seemed to do a good job, but I did a test opening by applying a small upward force and the trunk opening force separated the left piston band from the connector. After that I was able to put it back together, but it never held up well. After two or three weeks of falling apart, they both finally gave up. When this happened the broken piston cut about 1/16 inch into the metal of my trunk. Very cheaply made. Just spend the extra money to buy a higher quality set. I have a 2004 Monte Carlo.
