PERFECT for replacement parts

Compare to OEM supports. They came pre-installed with VERY IMPORTANT clamps on both ends. There was also a drop of fat in each hole! Using a small flathead screwdriver, I loosened the original clamp, removed the original supports and simply pushed them into place. It only lasted a few minutes. Our 2003 Monte Carlo SS now features fully functional Trunk Lid Lift Supports (EASY to install yourself) for a fraction of what the local Chevrolet stealership required!

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Unreliable

Luggage carriers break immediately

I had the same thing as the others: luggage carriers open the trunk and slam it shut. The plastic ends are pulled out of the threaded piston rod and cleaned. (2004 Impala with spoilers) UPDATE: The company took my complaint very seriously. They quickly sent another set of racks with a different calibration for my car. These new ones work better but not as well as the original OEM ones. I would rate the replacement 4 stars.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Somewhat crumpled

The product is defective or of poor quality

I have racks a little over 60 days and both are broken. At first I thought that the plastic piece on the end of the strut that snaps onto the bodywork could somehow detach from the piston piece, but that wasn't the case. I'm not sure if it's the quality of the plastic or if someone misplaced the end piece when assembling it, but the threads have snapped and the plastic part is no longer staying on the butt part to make these paperweights.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • There are doubts

Easy to install but easy to break

They were very easy to install. They seemed to do a good job, but I did a test opening by applying a small upward force and the trunk opening force separated the left piston band from the connector. After that I was able to put it back together, but it never held up well. After two or three weeks of falling apart, they both finally gave up. When this happened the broken piston cut about 1/16 inch into the metal of my trunk. Very cheaply made. Just spend the extra money to buy a higher qualityโ€ฆ

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • New competitors appeared

Next time I'll pay more for OEM units

These things are too strong and don't soften the hole like OEM units do. With both installed, my Impala's trunk lid pops open and hits the trunk hinges. Not good. I removed one of the new ones and mixed it with one of the stronger (but weaker) old ones and the trunk opens just right, although you still have to keep it from putting too much stress on the trunk mount hinges as it still wants to Open when the lid is almost all the way up. There are definitely no issues with the trunk lid fallingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Transparency

Impala fuselage braces 03

I bought them for our Impala 03. The first set was removed after a few months. We contacted the seller and Revain and they replaced it. Thanks for that. A few months later with the second set. The same is cut out. Asked for another replacement set. We are unlucky. I took them out of the car and put JB Weld on the bare ends and hope it works. My wife is smaller and cannot easily lift the trunk. They dry out over time, and even if you twist them tighter, they still dry out. Maybe there is a badโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Mostly good but...
