These things are too strong and don't soften the hole like OEM units do. With both installed, my Impala's trunk lid pops open and hits the trunk hinges. Not good. I removed one of the new ones and mixed it with one of the stronger (but weaker) old ones and the trunk opens just right, although you still have to keep it from putting too much stress on the trunk mount hinges as it still wants to Open when the lid is almost all the way up. There are definitely no issues with the trunk lid falling on your head in cold weather, which prompted me to replace it with the original.
