It is durable and can really be used multiple times depending on the type of food you put in it. I've washed mine dozens of times and it's still good. Does not peel off and does not soften. I had to throw away 3 plates because one plate was used so much and I put greasy food on it that it didn't look recyclable anymore, the other one had so many dish scratches that the first layer came off (used more than 3 times). I like the look of the plates. Reminds me of the tropics. Unlike paper plates, I'm not ashamed to throw them away after use. The only downside I noticed is the price as it's a bit more expensive than regular disposable plates. But the fact of the matter is, these are no ordinary disposables, so there's something to consider. It's really eco-friendly. I recommend and will definitely buy again! It makes a good gift to be honest.
