Review on 🔧 ESP32 LoRa 32 (V2) Development Board with Bluetooth & WIFI, Dual Core 240MHz CP2102, OLED Display, and 868/915MHZ Antenna for IoT Makers, Smart Cities, Farms, and Home Automation by Kevin Caldwell

Board version (before September 2018): I have several of these devices with Wi-Fi and 915MHz Lora. If you use one as a WiFi hotspot and Lora, the others will only send data to the hotspot with Lora. Arduino IDE 1.8 with the Radiohead RF95 Lora library and the Oled library they recommend. I have never tried BlueTooth. The good ones: 1. It works as advertised 2. Factory library and sketches.3. No problem with ESP32 WiFi Shared Library and Sketches.4. The coloring of the pin assignment is good. You can download it from the Heltec The Not so Good:1 website. There is no battery voltage pin. So you need to solder a wire to the connector if you want to read Bat V2. The JST battery has a 1.25 pitch and is located on the underside of the board. Therefore, you need to remove the circuit board to disconnect the battery.3. There is no V Reg Enable pin, it is tied to Vcc internally. Only reset chip ESP32 Pin.4. The charging current of the LiPo battery is only 100 mA. 200mA would be better5. The included uFL-SMA cable is cheap, one of mine has connection issues on the uFL side. The v2 board changes some of the functionality of the pins, so be careful when replacing the v1 board. There is absolutely no documentation on the functionality of these changes. GitHub does not have the latest V2 schema. Pin 13 now reads battery voltage? If so, how do you set up the V divider? What has changed about pins 34 and 35 because they no longer work in the same way? How exactly is this new Vext connected and tied to pin 21? How much power can the Vext take? etc.
