Review on πŸ”’ DIYhz Self-Locking Button Switch with Latching Feature by Patrick Reid

Fragile! Incorrect!: Push button

Small switches fit easily in tight spaces and have a nice on/off switching behavior. However, I couldn't solder them into my project! Just a few seconds of heat was enough to melt the innards and even after I managed to attach a pair the wires kept pulling out from behind! Also, the button heads come off quite easily if they get caught somewhere. The worst part isn't how tiny the buttons are, instead there are tiny springs inside that push the buttons through space and fall out on their own. In this case the switch will not work without the top part of the button and the spring! Any attempt to tighten the knob or spring will result in the mechanism not working. I ended up disassembling my project and replacing them with metal switches.

Pros
  • Industrial electrics
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
