I spend a lot of time on the phone talking to different people. In short, the sound quality of many phone calls these days is disgusting. A lot of them are just very quiet, whether it's because of poor connectivity, poor quality of the caller's phone, or because the caller isn't speaking into the microphone. This little black box solves that problem. At 20dB gain it can blow your ears out, but at the lowest gain the original signal doesn't change. It doesn't introduce any background noise that I can hear. It's small, has an AC adapter (no batteries!), the squirrel cage controls work well, and it comes with 1 square inch velcro to attach to your phone. It plugs into your phone, which is where a phone would normally be plugged in, using the very short cord that comes with it, and the phone (or headset if a phone jack is used) plugs into the amplifier. NOTE: This uses a "standard" RJ earpiece jack, not a headset-style mini-plug. And it would be perfect for the hearing impaired. Even an older technophobe can master this device.
