Ideal for dry and irritated skin as a barrier balm. If you're prone to acne stay away

In case you didn't know, this cream has achieved cult status with many legendary pore-cleansing stories. I was intrigued by all the claims of loosening and removing blockages while softening the skin. So I bought this balm and tested it: I did a facial and then applied the balm (with soothing essential oils that tingled nicely) to the red and inflamed areas of my face hoping it would soothe and cleanse even more . Usually, after a monthly facial, my pores shrink and become tiny within a few days. Imagine my surprise when I found my pores were instantly enlarged and darkened and filled with sebum. I was very, very disappointed. What is meant to cleanse the skin only clogs it! The ingredient list consists mostly of oils and beeswax (which apparently acted as a barrier causing my pores to congest). If you use it around the eyes you can get milia like I did. This balm works best for non-acne prone skin that is dry and chafed like a barrier balm/diaper balm. This is not good for my dehydrated but acne prone skin. Looking at the entire Darphin line, many products have mediocre ingredients (lots of Sisley-like mineral oil) and outdated formulas. Don't be fooled if you have acne-prone, dry skin. Save money for what clinically works.
