I wanted to write a review to provide the information that I was missing when purchasing this product. I ordered these along with the Original Wesco Pet Original Bird Kabob Shreddable Bird Toy to see which would be the best value for my money. I wasn't sure how big the bag would be or how much it would cost to hang it in the cage. Regarding the first question: the bag contains much more material than the toy, about twice as much. Pieces are also larger, 2 to 3 inches in diameter, while toy discs are about 1-1/2 inches in diameter. The pieces in this pack have a harder shell on the outside of the ring so they take a little longer to sharpen. Regarding the second question, they turn out to be very easy to string. Most of them seemed to be one too have hole in them, perfect for stringing. For those who don't, these things are VERY porous and get in almost as easily as peanuts in a Styrofoam bag, so making a hole can be added with a toothpick, pencil, or any number of household items on hand. She crushed it in a few days. I think the boxed ones last a bit longer due to the harder shell on the outside. Overall a great product and it's made from a cactus type so don't worry about swallowing any chemicals.
