The hood is solid and well made. I like the quality of Sellstrom Flip Tops more than Fiber Metal. This makes it easier to replace the front lens cap. The hat is comfortable. The headband ratchet is a bit difficult to turn, but it works. I wanted to use it with ArcOne's ADF 2x4 lens. The slot is about 1/32 too small to put in. I could fix the problem with a file, but I don't have to and don't want to. The lower skin works well when covered, but the upper skin doesn't cover the head like I thought. He wants to stay upright and not relax over his head. It's a solid hood for tight spots, but the lack of a lens auto-dim function is disappointing.
