This is the perfect heat press mat. I have a medium sized heat press and it goes really well with this rug. Unlike the mat that came with my heat press, it does a great job with my HTV and adheres well to the first press thanks to the way it absorbs and reflects heat. I also use it on a stable table and have no problems with heat penetrating the table. I have used this mat many times in a month and a half and it works the same as the first time. And yes, it doesn't smell! Highly recommended.
