I've only had this headset for about a week. It works well, just as I expected and wanted. I bought an iPhone adapter (pc headset to smartphone adapter, dual 3.5mm to 3.5mm) along with it in case it is needed. It's not like this. My 2009 Macbook Pro has two microphone/speaker ports that work with two cables on the headset. However, the adapter allows you to connect/disconnect your headset by swapping one cable instead of two if you wish. I haven't tried the headset adapter with my iPhone yet. The instructions that come with the headset are unnecessary as the setup is so obvious. With a caveat that also makes them irrelevant. They tell you that the two plugs are for the microphone and ear pads respectively. They tell you this with small icons and suggest that this is how you can identify potential customers. You can not. The cables differ in color: pink for the microphone, green for the headphones. I was able to figure them out quickly through trial and error. I also noticed that P (pink) looks a bit like a microphone, a pen on a stick, and G (green) looks a bit like headphones. I would also like to add a general comment on buying electronics online to this post. This probably also applies to other products, which I have not tested. I needed a power cord for my Mac. I looked at Revan. From what I remember they were about $30 plus shipping. Reading the reviews I got the impression that most one star reviews reflect reports of faulty equipment. The probability of failure was around 10%. So I wondered if I would be willing to take a 10 percent default risk on a $35 purchase. Well, I'll admit I'm a bit of a curmudgeon, so I decided to see if I could mitigate the risk and headed to the Apple Store. Here the price is in the $60 range. I was sure that this would result in a lower bounce rate. Much to my surprise, Apple's failure rate is the same. So my conclusion is that you reduce your risk with a lower price and need to buy a replacement from time to time.
