I have used this carrier for my 9 lb cat and kittens that we have cared for. We also have a 13 pound cat which I have not tried to put in a carrier but it is safe to assume she is snug and doesn't have much wiggle room. This is a great product, love the design and all. The only downside is that it's not very roomy for large cats, and even for cats under 5lbs, the top of the stretcher sags when carried with the cat's weight presses on it. Although the ground is stable. My suggestion would be to get a 'big' carrier for small pets and young kittens as well so they have room because it really isn't that big.
