Review on ๐Ÿšฟ Ecosmart POU 3.5 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 3.5KW@120-Volt, Compact Size 7โ€ x 11โ€ x 3โ€ by Kevin Hauck

Better than a tank for a rarely used faucet.

Although this water heater cannot do what a regular tank water heater can, it is suitable for a faucet that is rarely used. It delivers about 120 degrees of water when the faucet is only half open. I didn't use the flow restrictor aerator that came with the kit as we like to have higher flow and it's easy to control when we need hotter water. I chose this particular unit because I have a couple of better rated water heaters from this manufacturer and they work very well. Only thing is they require two 40A 220V circuits and I only had one 30A 220V circuit available for this application.. Rare use and low volume requirements do not justify the Cost of additional wiring to install a larger unit. I simply used the existing wiring to an old tank water heater, fixed a waterproof junction box to the wall and wired this tankless unit to the wall next to the junction box. A pair of compression connectors (rubber grommet type) was all that was needed to attach the existing flexible conduit and cable from the heater to the junction box. I bought two brass grommets to use the 3/4" NPT fittings on some braided hoses that had Sharkbite fittings on the other end for connecting to copper tubing. I had a little problem here. They fit the 1/2" male thread on this heater. I used teflon tape first and then tried paste, but none of that stopped the slow leaking. I had some red Loctite on hand and ran out of patience, so I used this leak repaired.
