Review on High-Quality Knock Sensor Harness Intake Manifold Gasket Kit: Compatible with Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, GMC - Genuine OEM Part 12601822 104566030 - by Lucky Seven by Edward Perez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive complete set

The failure of the knock sensor on my 05 Silverado must have been gradual. Then I received the code PO0327. I removed the intake manifold and replaced the sensors. Make sure you clean the sensor threads thoroughly (MUST!) and that the area around the sensors is clean. I've coated the threads with a stainless steel non-stick coating to keep the threads from corroding again. Then the new sensors are installed and screwed in correctly. Make sure the sensors are grounded to the engine block before reassembling. If not, remove threads and clean again. Mine were tightened to 80 IN-POUNDS; NOTE: NOT foot pounds. Connect the wiring harness and use silicone grease (NOT silicone sealant) around the outside of the wellies to keep water out. New gaskets were used and the intake manifold and other parts were reinstalled. Fired the error code with a scanner. Then I "retrained" the sensors by increasing the engine speed to 5000 rpm 4 times for 3 seconds. If you do not reprogram the sensors, the ECM will assume that a fault has occurred and will re-enter the code. In my case there are no more codes and the engine runs harder than before. I think for a while the sensors failed and the ECM advanced the ignition again to compensate for the loss of power. This is an AMAZING kit!
