Well it works fine. I have a Vizio soundbar with various inputs. This application is tied to the mini aux jack via RCA connectors. The turntable is a Technics SL Q3 quartz direct drive. You can control the preamp output. This allows you to increase/decrease the volume (gain) of your amplifier. Great deal for most of us.
