Almost perfect.: Receiver and amplifier

Serves its purpose. However, the volume boost is not as strong as I had hoped. Using a VERY old turntable with a modern receiver (no phono input) this unit amplified the phonograph and we were able to hear loud and clear through the receiver. However, we had to turn the receiver's volume up to 10% of the maximum volume to get a good loud sound. Still immeasurably better than without it (since we couldn't listen at maximum volume without this little box). Basically a good decision.

Audiophiles no, others yes.

Well it works fine. I have a Vizio soundbar with various inputs. This application is tied to the mini aux jack via RCA connectors. The turntable is a Technics SL Q3 quartz direct drive. He's probably 30 years old. The product arrived on time. Plug in the included power adapter and connect the RCA to the Vizio's mini-input. Launched and lit the ABBA album. You can control the preamp output. This allows you to increase/decrease the volume (gain) of your amplifier. Great deal for most of us. An…

Good product for the price!

Product works well with my headphones. I needed to get the frequency of my turntable up to line level, so it seemed like a major accomplishment, and so far it has been. The problem is that the device doesn't have an on/off switch, which is fine with me, but might be a problem for those who don't have this situation. It's also a smaller device than I thought it would be, as I was expecting a mini-amp sized product. If you have a weak amp/receiver/or cartridge/stylus on turntables DO NOT buy…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent

Good for converting vinyl and cassette to CD

I transfer a lot of vinyl and/or cassette to CD and was looking for a replacement for a less expensive Pyle preamp as I felt the 'buzz' when using it, maybe something more intrusive in the recordings than I would like. I've had this Tec preamp for a few weeks and it hums during recording, but it comes across as a little less intrusive than the previous preamp I've used. This device is very easy to set up and use with one caveat; There is no on/off button or switch, which initially proved…

Ideal budget option for upgrading old equipment

So far this preamp has been perfect for what I bought it for. I have a late 1980's Sony turntable that sounds great but needs to be boosted to line level, which I was trying to hook up to a late 1990's Aiwa stereo that also sounds good but doesn't have a built in phono stage , and I also wanted my Bluetooth receiver to be connected to the system without having to plug and unplug cables every time I want to switch from player to Bluetooth. This element makes the sound as loud as I need for this…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Convert vinyl to digital? This is the phono stage for you.

The TC-753LC Phono Stage is a great purchase for those of you looking to digitize your vinyl collection (MP3, WMA etc) or just want a preamp for a phono stage into a stereo setup. If you are using a standard turntable (without a built in preamp, which is normal) you will need to amplify the output of that turntable. Just connect the RCA phono outputs. of your turntable (red and white wires) into the inputs of this preamp and connect the output of the preamp to your sound card. Typically you…
