Revainrating 5 out of 5

Also works great in a reflector housing.

The light output is bright and distant. I have used high quality Sylvania, Philips, Osram and Hella lamps for many years, all of which are excellent. In the last few years I've started using LEDs in all my setups. I missed hiding because I didn't have a projector case. The LEDs are excellent, they are bright and use little power. The problem is that the output power is highly dependent on the radiation pattern from bulb to bulb. This means you may have to try several to get good coverage. Then the color doesn't matter, it has a bluish cast. Tried a lot and had the purest white I could find and returned the rest. Now I decided to try a headlight because one of my trucks had a terrible radiation pattern no matter what LED bulb I used. I have fitted 35W AC 6000k 9006 bulbs and they are amazing. Perfect beam pattern, and the color has almost no blue and is perfectly white. The throw on them is much further than on LEDs. LED looks brighter on the wall or near objects, but not on the street. The LED was almost too bright for close objects, it was a big glare for me. What bothered me the most was the harsh light on other drivers. In fact, the LED is worse for oncoming glare. I had perfect lights but they still flashed all the time, I've never flashed with a Hyde. I liked them so much I put the kit in another car I was driving. Now with better lighting. The only problem is the boot time, you don't want them to be your bright or blurry ones. I still use LEDs for fog (3000K) and highlights (6000K). I have a very bright high beam, but when it's on there's no one around. The 3000,000 nebulae are great, tons of light flooding the front bottom and sides. Yes, 3000k works better in fog, snow and rain.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Without automatic control
