I don't know why I need these pliers yet, but I know I will one day need them. Auto work, plumbing, work on anything that requires a secure grip with a lever. It's only a matter of time before they prove invaluable. They come with a heavy duty cloth carry case that will keep them securely stored until needed, a nice touch. The push button action to unlock the jaws for adjustment is simple enough to understand and use. The handles are comfortable and provide a secure grip. Having three sizes to choose from is a luxury when you can't always know how much work space you need to get something. These are my impressions straight out of the box; Use will be the real test. How well the button mechanism holds up over time will be crucial. For now I'm happy with them and would love to have them in my toolbox.
