I bought these after both keys to my 2012 Mazda 3 broke their fobs. Thankfully, on this replacement keychain case, the piece of metal that snaps onto the original is of much stronger construction, so I doubt it will ever break again. It seems that this is the only noticeable difference between them and the originals. The disadvantage of the stronger version is that the attached uncut key does not detach from the metal hinge, unlike the original. So instead of changing keys, I had to cut new ones. which didn't really matter as my old fob still worked, I just reused the part of my old fob that contains the immobilizer chip instead of paying to reprogram it (it cost $5 just to cut out the key that came with it , compared to $150 to program a new key). Chip). I destroyed the immobilizer chip in one of my old key fobs trying to remove it, so I don't recommend trying that. Overall they are great quality and they have saved me hundreds of dollars compared to buying two new complete keychains.
