Packaging was redundant to protect the glass (which is good). The directions weren't very clear. I actually broke the first one I installed, glad the second streamed better. What worked for me was to peel off the protective film 1/2, apply the protective glass to the screen and slowly peel off the remaining protective film, only pressing where the protective film releases. Make sure you position it correctly before applying pressure; Once tucked away it will be very difficult to remove without breaking the glass (I broke my first one trying to rearrange it). When properly aligned and installed, they look fantastic and seem to "improve" the look of the screen. They fit well and make cleaning easier. Now I have them on all machines. I highly recommend this product!
