Review on 💡 BV-Tech 5 Port Gigabit PoE Switch: 4 PoE Ports + 1 Uplink – 65W – 802.3af/at by Tony Doolittle

Purchased 5 port and 10 port models for my IP camera system. I have a 10 port model in my basement and it's cool. It works well. The 5 port model lives in my detached dry wood garage. Knowing it was going to be hot in the garage I figured this switch might not be up to scratch. But even on the hottest days, this switch worked. EXCEPT when there has been lightning rain in the area. Switch port 5 has failed. I bought another BV switch as the other ports work. I installed it, it rained but it worked, then it rained in the area with lightning, ports 4 and 5 failed. Before that switch, I had a crappy VCR with me for several years. Never had this problem. Electronics cannot withstand surges. Use with caution.
