This little guy works like a champ! Easy to install and is the perfect solution to take our 5GHz signal to the basement. It separates the 5GHz and 2.4GHz signals so you can choose which signal you want to connect to (unlike most router settings, which automatically choose the signal with the best connection ). 5GHz isn't very good at penetrating walls, but is MUCH faster than 2.4GHz, which penetrates farther. My 2.4GHz signal in the basement was 32Mbps. With this extender I'm catching 5 GHz and getting about 135! However, the repeater is receiving a signal from our router, which is about 6 feet from the one directly below on the ground floor of our home. You need to position it correctly to get the best results. play with it Once it's set up, you can move it to any outlet. It's worth it! We now have the perfect resolution on our Firestick in the basement.
