Review on 🐒 Turtle Wax 53413 Ceramic 3-in-1 Detailer - Hybrid Solutions - 32 Fluid Ounces by Hugo Caywood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fairly safe waterless car wash with good shine and smoothness

I don't have access to a hose and little space even to store a bucket, so safe, easy and quick waterless car wash is my number one goal. The $5 Turtle Wax Clean & Shine will do, but the Hybrid Detailer is in a different world in terms of shine quality and smoothness, so it's worth the extra money. Even a little goes a long way and this is a 32 ounce bottle. The instructions don't say so, but pre-spray the microfiber application field when it's dry for added safety - no spray bottle provides perfectly even mist distribution, and you never want a dry microfiber patch to touch a dry patch of a dirty field. Also, for heaven's sake, change the finish more often on pleated microfiber. I usually do my first transition by folding back onto the back of my first panel because the product has already leaked to that side so it's wet. Then refolding on the panel that was against the very first panel and is now damp. You will get an image. Dampen or rotate the plate so that it is completely saturated. Other reviewers are right. It almost feels sticky but I wouldn't go that far, it's just thicker than Ice Spray Wax and Ice Seal n Shine. I've used them as a waterless car wash and cleaner with no issues with product build-up, but I need the added security of the 3-in-1 hybrid solutions that Turtle Wax labels waterless safe. 3 in 1 is a bit more work but with added security for me. That's more drying passes than I'm used to, but no steaks for me unless I let it dry on its own. One thing I've noticed is that the car trim can LOOK dry, but when I put the finishing touches on the fresh, dry microfiber side, the microfiber side gets a little wet. This final light polishing is essential to achieve the best possible result. The result is really good. Longevity isn't a big issue for me as long as it can withstand several weeks of rain without reapplying - since I use it as a car wash and car wash I still repaint it every 3 or 4 days. According to YouTube I have no problems. I'll try it out on a new car without base wax. I'll let you know how it works. My base wax on our other car is a two step process: Ice Seal n Shine with Ice Spray Wax as a topper, then detailed with Ice Spray Wax for light dust and road sprays, "washed" with a 3-in-1 hybrid product when it gets dirtier. Applying to a clear coat with no wax or sealer or worn or sealer, I recommend rinsing first. The product makes the paint dirt-repellent, which is part of the permanent protection in a waterless car wash. It is better to rinse before the first layer of protective seal is on the paintwork. After that I was completely satisfied with the waterless car wash, except for the dirt. As a rule, if any type of dirt (other than light to medium dust) can be washed off with a jet of water (e.g. dirt and salt), you should spray the car first and also only apply to a dry panel. On the first machine, I had no incompatibility with Turtle Wax Ice products, Meguiar's Waterless, No-Water RainX, Black Magic Waterless, Chemical Guys Ecosmart, Swift Wipe Waterless, or Adams Waterless. The hybrid solutions appear to work well but also require slightly less polishing compared to the previous 3-in-1 dressings. No product build-up.
