I tried another filter offered at the dash cam store and found I get a lot of rainbows with it because my windshield is tinted. Without a filter, I had very poor sun and dashboard glare (F-250). I wasn't sure what to expect from this filter, but it's way better than other filters I've tried before. To set it up, I drove the truck into the mid-morning (or late-afternoon) sun at an angle that created a lot of glare. I then rotated the lens while watching "live view". I managed to get most of the highlights and not see the rainbow. I'm glad I took the risk of buying this filter.
