The replacement tips that come with this Yihua soldering station do not fully cover the ceramic core heating element like the original tip already attached to the iron (see photo). However, I found several replacement tips at Revain that completely cover the ceramic core. My favorite is the Kzerlly 900M-T-2.4D, which is a chisel-point model and conducts heat over a large area. The other is the Mudder 900 MTB, a pointed tip model similar to the original tip shown in the photo (but not super thin). The soldering station itself works well, and once you put the chisel tips on the iron it really conducts heat. I have used Stay Brite silver solder that comes with Stay Clean Liquid Flux (in small kits) to successfully join 26 gauge stainless steel wire to carbon steel at this station's 630 degree Fahrenheit temperature. The holder on this station is fantastic with the included rosin and a full size brass cleaning wire. Purchasing a nib jar/cleaner (available from Revain) will help keep your nibs in tip-top shape. The cord from the station to the iron is incredibly flexible and doesn't kink.
