I usually use nail buffs and metal files for plastic models, but now I'm a fan of these sponges. Don't get me wrong, I'll still be using those drugstore nail buffers, but with these sponges, their fine texture makes for a really even finish no matter what foil you use. They're pretty small, but I cut 1" x 2" rectangles and they really last a long time compared to everything else I've used. However, they aren't good enough for making plastic shine and I knew I was buying them. I usually use a fabric grinder to achieve this shine. Sponges are also great for cleaning resin parts before priming. I will buy them when they run out again.
