Just received this and put it on my grill today so will edit it after I've roasted a few times. But at first glance, it's a cheap, velvety material that reminds me of that fake mustache you had as a kid. And the glue is exactly the same. Trying to peel off the adhesive backing was painful and started tearing the edges. After applying it to my grill and smoker it definitely filled the gap, but the real test will be whether or not it actually withstands the heat. In my head I have a feeling it will catch fire and melt on my grill. but I'll let you know! EDIT: After a few grills it's already peeling off leaving melted glue residue around my grill. It still works for the most part. But I won't see that for much longer.
