As kids we used to use card holders when playing 2 or 3 deck games. My mom had some thin round ones that we used whenever we played canasta. I found it interesting because they are also freestanding unlike their round ones. But they are very uncomfortable to hold in hands. Unless you're a man and have big hands, they're very bulky and the thin plastic protrusion digs into your hand. I think if you just use them as a stand for your cards to sit in front of you then you'll be fine. But as for mine, they probably won't get much use.
