You must know how to use it.

Suggestions for improvement:1. Allow recalibration based on the phone case or other elements that may affect the distance accuracy.2. Provide the ability to disable LED blinking or only while the software is running.3. Ability to increase power or use any relay/booster.4. Check out the hybrid Bluetooth/RF option. That way, if the pet is out of Bluetooth range, you can switch back to RF technology to get closer. To everyone's consideration: as others have said, range can be deceiving. However, after some testing, anything and everything can cause the pane to display incorrectly. I removed the case from the phone and this improved the distance accuracy. I have a metal mark on my cat that was also affecting accuracy and causing wild fluctuations. The problem isn't with their transponder, it's with everything else between your phone and the transponder, including the case and the pet itself. I've also noticed that my bluetooth receiver isn't on the top of my phone as expected, it's on one side. So if I hold my phone a little to the side I actually get more accurate readings than if I hold my phone normally. When I bought this item, I already knew it was going to be more of a no-brainer for "hot and cold". However, to conserve battery power, the transponder will transmit at a slower frequency until the signal is blocked, then increase the frequency. If you frantically run, you may miss your pet's signal. Get a signal. Go from there Just point in one direction to see if you're getting "hot" or "cold" and my cat knows he's there, but sometimes I still can't see him, especially at night, but at this point he can see and hear clearly and respond to my voice.Remember that most pets, especially cats, are territorial and rarely stray too far from home, if you need pinpoint accuracy, Bluetooth is not the solution you need Having said that, HF and GPS have their drawbacks, especially since the GPS can't get a signal when your pet is in a burrow. These other options didn't work best for me and my situation.I who en don't pay a monthly fee, and these transponders are huge, bulky and need to be recharged constantly. I wanted something low maintenance and easy for my cat. I don't have to take any special HF device or anything like that with me. Every time I launch the app, I usually find my cat within minutes. The biggest annoyance I've experienced with my Cat Tailer is the blinking LED. I can understand the purpose of brightening up where the collar is, but it's very annoying, especially at night when you're snuggling up to your pet and they keep blinking. As I said above, I think this is only necessary when using tracking software. Otherwise I'm happy with the device and find that many of the bad reviews come from buyers who have too high expectations or misunderstood what they are buying. I hope this review helps others understand what they are buying and how they are using it.
