Review on DEWALT 20V MAX XR Reciprocating Saw (DCS367B) - Compact & Cordless Tool Only by Matt Eason

Love it. Buy one on Power Tools

Edit: This saw just stopped working properly after being used about 6 times. The motor overheats very quickly and the saw is terribly noisy. Dewalt customer support is missing. Looks like I'm moving to Milwaukee. The hammer drill worked like crazy after normal use and now the saw doesn't work either. I just love spending money. Milwaukee, here I am. I have just received my second Dewalt compact reciprocating saw. My first was stolen. My first one lasted about three years with no problems. I've used this saw for everything HVAC related: wood, PVC, cast iron pipe, wire (accidentally), etc. It cuts everything with ease. I removed about 200 feet of gas line from the entire building using a 6Ah battery. I love this saber saw. It fits almost anywhere and the blade can be moved in any direction. There is no boot depth setting, but that's ok. I find this tool easy to use and I have never needed an adjustable sheath. I dropped it many times, got wet, very cold, very hot, left it at work all day every day. It requires abuse. If you are considering this saw and already own Dewalt products, simply buy this item. Honestly, it's that great. People complain that it "wobbles" or vibrates too much. I agree with them. It vibrates more than a full-size saber saw. But that's a compromise. I find it smooth enough. If you're really worried about that powerful saber saw being wobbly, you might want to start cutting at your own pace with a hacksaw, crybabies! This tool does what I need and does it well.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Minor Repairability
