I had a bike with old brakes with wires, pulleys and calipers that should have been replaced many years ago.It was installed due to problems removing the old caliper from the front fork.The wiring was different than previous brakes on the bike.It was better to have it taken care of at a local shop They work well and fit into existing brake levers and wiring rails.Several changes to the cable route were required to get the cable glands to work with the tension of the new brake system.The price was great and the caliper tension is better than previous brakes.This design can even help with aerodynamics as the calipers align better with the bike frame.
