Having trouble finding Black Gesso in stores and can't find it anywhere, I'm giving this product a shot to see how it works. I've applied it to MDF and it has a good feel and finish. Good thing is that it is possible to send it abroad, I ordered a few units to Colombia and the canisters arrived in good condition, no breaks, no leaks. It took me a while to get the bottom cover off, but it's a good addition for storage. If you want to use a wide brush to apply to surfaces, use a brush under 3 inches. A 3-inch brush barely fits in a canister, so anything below will do. Later I'll have to check if I can mix it with another brand of White Gesso and see how it performs.
