Review on ☕ Nespresso Vertuo Plus Grey Coffee and Espresso Maker by De'Longhi by Karl Swift

Amazing coffee taste but at a very high price

If you have never tasted coffee from a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine, you must try it. This is a whole notch above Keurig-style brewing. Most coffee makers use a variety of hot water pouring options for coffee grounds, from standard drip machines to the convenient Keurig machines. The first-generation Nespresso machine used the traditional espresso technique of forcing pressurized water through the coffee grounds. While this produces excellent coffee, it is also noisy and prone to mechanical damage due to the need for a pressure pump. The new generation Vertuo machines use a whole new way of making coffee: the coffee pod is placed in a miniature centrifuge and that pressure is used to force hot water through the coffee instead of hydraulic pressure. The result is fantastic: a full-bodied coffee with an amazing crema that's as good or better than anything you've ever tasted. Pros: It produces a rich crema for both espresso and regular coffee blends. It's very easy to use and quiet, and is actually smaller than my Keurig. This results in a coffee that rivals or better than Starbucks, especially if you use a separate frother when mixing milk or cream. Cons: EXPENSES. The capsules are sold exclusively by Nespresso, are limited in quantity and cost more than a dollar each. For that reason, I really recommend trying before you buy if you can - if you really love good coffee, or if you want to cut down on your Starbucks habit but can't stomach regular filter coffee, this Nespresso could be your new best friend.
