Review on 🐱 Ultra Pet Clumping Crystal Cat Litter: 5lb Pack with White & Multicolor Crystals by Emma Jones

I'm new to Crystal Filler. I never knew you could use them to control odors BUT the ones in the store hurt the cats paws because of their shape and they soon start smelling like a urinal as the urine is still in it. My cats act when they start smelling it (i.e. spray outside the box, etc.). This is my first time seeing clumping quartz filler so I was hopeful and definitely not disappointed. The urine sticks together easily and the silica absorbs all the smell of ammonia, which I found skeptical since it's such a small grain. The clumping of the urine-soaked filler eliminates the urine odor that normally develops so quickly with non-clumping silica filler. And the fine grit is soft on cat's paws and much less uncomfortable when stepped on. It shatters, but I'd rather have a fine grit than beads rolling all over the place or larger Lego-like crystals. I have 3 cats and in just 2 bags and ONE box (which I don't normally do but did to test this) it still stays strong, no smell, clumps well and it's been 2 weeks. I LOVE this throw! I have a kitten that scrapes all the litter to pee, so she usually just pees without the litter, but still sticks together when smeared in a pee puddle. If he sometimes pees on a thin layer of litter, it can become hard and crusty rather than sticky, but it still doesn't smell and will splinter if scraped well. If you have a non-stick box I'm sure that will help, but I don't. I don't know why the price is so much higher for packs of 2 or 3 etc so I just buy a few at a time to get it at the lowest price. All in all VERY VERY happy and disappointed to have found this just now. Eternal litter box!
