Review on πŸ“Ί Mount-It! Landscape to Portrait Rotation TV Wall Mount Bracket, Low-Profile for Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, Sharp, LG, Element, Westinghouse, TCL 32-60 Inch (Some 70') TVs, 110 lbs by Tony Stone

Decent construction but with one silly design flaw

For the money it's worth it's a well made and functional product. And that's 1/5-1/10 the cost of a professional product. The mount is held in a snug fit by gravity, with a ball lock rotating at 90 degree intervals. The latch has about 2-3 degrees of play, which allows you to make some adjustments. However, there is no friction adjustment, so the screen cannot be held at the exact desired angle. I'm a little suspicious of the lack of a secure outlet plug, but I don't see a TV popping out of an outlet in any survivable incident. So don't worry too much about the holder having a tendency to wriggle out of its socket when unloaded. The mounts themselves are barely tall enough for a 400mm high VESA mount, and here comes a silly design flaw: the mounts attach to a rotating bracket in their center BUT many TVs move their mounting holes up 1-2 inches to accommodate to include speakers and other electronics. If you try to mount a TV on it with a VESA 400 x 400 template (typical for screens 50" and larger) it will rotate around the geometric center of the screen and of course the TV will be unbalanced and tilt until he hits the latch a ball that may or may not hold hold. The solution is to drill additional holes in the mounting arms that allow the arms to move accordingly. If you have a smaller TV with a VESA mount of 300 x 300 or smaller, using the included TV mount holes will suffice. In most cases, TV manufacturers use random template offsets, and you should allow for a bit of drilling. Installing a truly universal solution would unfortunately be much more difficult and expensive.

Pros
  • HEAVY DUTY DESIGN: Constructed from cold rolled steel alloys for maximum optimum strength and durability. The load capacity of 110 lb. Equivalent to most liquid crystal LED and plasma displays on the market. This wall mount is built to last. Reinforced black powder coating for a modern look
